Video Clip Websites... as video engulfs the Internet, video clip websites proliferate.
The Internet's most popular video clip website - YouTube - was founded in February 2005. It is the world's top portal for online video sites. Purchased by Google in 2006 for 1.6 billion dollars, the YouTube purchase appears to be an attempt to stem MySpace's increasing popularity. Given Google's dollar muscle, MySpace will find herself facing, for the first time, real competition from the world's fastest growing company.
It contains well over 100 million videos, mainly short length videos which are uploaded by users every day. I went ahead and signed up for a YouTube account, as well as a MySpace account - wanting to see what all the "fuss is about". Both websites are part of what is being called Web2.0. This is a newer web which relies more on interactivity between the website and its users, rather than the old Web1.0 - which was mainly associated with just passively reading static webpages.
With advances in computer processing speed and the spread of broadband, videos will be more and more important as a communications vehicle within the Internet.
Bookmark www.VideoClipWebsites.com as a great source of information on the emerging world of internet video use.
As news items and other relevant articles become available, we will add them to this growing website. Thanks for stopping by.
